One of the things I most enjoy about my job is working with animal rescues & adoption organizations that reach out to me! Some of these organizations include Dogs for Conservation, Guardian Pit Bull Rescue, and Big Dog Rescue, Inc.
Recently I was contacted my an absolutely lovely lady named Jan via Etsy. Jan is a well-known animal advocate, a caretaker of dogs at any age, a literary animal care writer, and both a shelter and adoption worker in Tuscon, Arizona. She has been working for animal welfare and protection for 25+ years! She works with shelter organizations in educating staff and helping to improve shelter efficiency, enhance leadership skills and create a better shelter to adopter experience. Jan was even given an American Humane Association's Lifetime Achievement Award for "her long-standing reputation and the tremendous contributions she has made to groups that work with animals."

Jan is doing a fundraiser for an organization called Tuscon Cold Wet Noses (in Arizona), and she commissioned me to create a plethora of bookmarks that will be given to donors at her fundraiser. Tuscon Cold Wet Noses "is a non-profit dog rescue and adoption organization founded by a group of local dog lovers whose goal is to rescue dogs from the local pound (Pima Animal Care Center or PACC) and find them their perfect homes through successful adoptions."
I had so much fun creating these bookmarks for Jan!

There were quite a few varieties (of course, since there were 70 total)!
Thank you so much, Jan, for making me a part of your passion and unselfish work! The world is a more beautiful place because of you!
Stay tuned for my next post about Dogs for Conservation, an awesome organization that I got to paint a portrait for!
