Sorry I've been absent from the Blog lately! Thanks for sticking by me, lovelies :)
My husband and I bought a house and, as many of you probably know, moving just takes up so much time! And I've had lots of To-Do projects around the new house. I've painted pretty much everywhere (of course), and am currently on my first furniture makeover project- I'm painting my parents' old 9-drawer dresser to become my new dining room buffet! I did lots of research (yay for DIY blogs!) before embarking, and so far it's going well! I'm in the midst of sealing the final poly coats, which take 2 hours between each one. Then I have to leave it alone for 24 hours before I can move it inside, then another 48 before I put the drawers back in and anything on top.... patience is a difficult word! Repainting furniture down south is tricky because one day it's beautiful and then next it's either 90% humidity or scattered showers (yay Houston).
Other projects I'll embark upon include painting our bedroom nightstands, and I'm even entertaining the idea of painting the counter tops! I've read tons of people's personal experiences and I'm just itching to give it a try. The current counter tops are in excellent condition and high quality, so it's not like they're messed up or anything. I'm mainly interested in doing it so that I can bring in other colors to my downstairs decor palette. The tile flooring is blues, pinks and terracotta, and like an off white. The counter tops are pinks and purples. I'm an orange/blue/green/yelllow kind of gal, so if I repainted the counter tops, say black with glitter, I can knock out some of the pinks and purples in the house. Fortunately there's a semi-white counter top in the wet bar off the living room that I think I'll paint first, just to see how it goes and to see if it's worth it to mess with the current kitchen counter tops. Wish me luck!
Now, the reason you all actually read my blog: a few portraits I've completed lately!
Meet Jack & Finn!
